Wake up confident with smudge-proof brows designed just for you

Customized Powder Brows semi-permanent makeup that enhance your natural beauty, give you a polished look, and free you from the daily hassle of filling in your eyebrows.
What are Powder Brows?
Powder Brows is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that implants pigment under the skin to create a soft, powdery finish once healed — similar to the look of brows gently filled in with a pencil.
At Suki Studio in New York, I specialize exclusively in natural Powder Brows designed to enhance your features without ever looking overdone.
Your initial appointment is dedicated to building the foundation of your brows. I carefully measure and design your shape based on your facial features, bone structure, and natural brow pattern, using the golden ratio as a guide while always respecting your personal preferences.

Safety and quality are non-negotiable in my studio. I use only EU-certified pigments made in the USA or Europe, sterile single-use needles, and a fully sanitized medical-grade setup for every procedure.
Once the custom mixed pigment blend settles after your 5–8 week follow-up session, your brows will appear like a softly filled-in pencil look — defined, structured, and natural. The result is brows that stay put through busy days, workouts, humidity, and everyday life.
Every detail is customized to you — your skin type, skin tone, and natural brow hair — so the result looks seamless, balanced, and beautifully natural. The goal is not to change your face, but to elevate it.

How does Powder Brows differ from “Microblading?”
Microblading (while NOT offered at Suki Studio in New York) is a more commonly known term that is often used broadly in the United States when referring to brow semi-permanent makeup. However, Powder Brows — also known as ombré brows, microshading, or pixelated brows — is the technique I specialize in at Suki Studio.
In a nutshell, both Powder Brows and Microblading fall under the category of semi-permanent makeup, which is a cosmetic pigmentation procedure where pigment heals gently under the skin to provide longer-lasting results compared to daily brow makeup (such as brow pencil, brow gel, or brow powder) or topical treatments like brow tint or brow henna.
The main difference is in the visual technique and healed result.
Microblading creates hair-like strokes — thin lines placed in between natural brow hairs to mimic individual strands.
Powder Brows, on the other hand, use a soft shading technique made up of tiny, pixelated dots distributed throughout the brows to create a smooth, powdery finish — similar to the look of softly filled-in brow pencil.
This shading technique is designed with long-term color stability, skin compatibility, and natural aging of the pigment in mind, which is why it is the method I specialize in at Suki Studio.

Real Clients, Real Results

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know—from how long results last, to what to do before and after your appointment for the best retention, and how natural-looking results are thoughtfully achieved at Suki Studio.
How long does it last?
At Suki Studio, I specialize in natural Powder Brows semi-permanent makeup designed to heal softly and stay neutral in tone over time. The goal is not for the pigment to last forever, but to age gracefully and allow adjustments as your skin and features naturally change.
On average, the results last 12 to 24 months or longer. This does not mean the brows completely disappear after 24 months—it simply means they typically become lighter around that time and may benefit from a maintenance (refresher) session to keep the color looking fresh.
Semi-permanent makeup is intentionally designed to last about 1–3 years because this allows flexibility to adjust shape and color as life, skin, and preferences evolve. Factors like sun exposure, natural skin regeneration, and changes in skin elasticity all influence how pigment fades over time.
Skin Type & Retention
Normal to Dry Skin
Typically holds pigment the best. Even with good retention, the brows are intentionally designed to gradually lighten within 12–24 months, depending on saturation level, skincare routine, and lifestyle. Allowing the pigment to fade over time helps prevent unwanted dull or ashy tones in the long term.
Oily Skin
Usually has lower retention because excess sebum can break down pigment and push it out of the skin more quickly. For this reason, a slightly more saturated first session and custom pigment blending are often needed. Clients with oily skin may choose to refresh their brows sooner than those with drier skin types, depending on their desired look.
Mature Skin (55+)
Mature skin often has less collagen and elasticity, increased sensitivity, and sometimes significant brow hair loss. These factors can affect pigment retention. In some cases, an additional follow-up session may be recommended to achieve the desired fullness.
At Suki Studio, the technique is intentionally designed so pigment gradually softens within 12–18 months (on average) on all skin types, and especially on mature skin. This approach helps prevent the heavy, cool-toned color shifts commonly seen in older permanent makeup techniques from decades ago.

Natural vs. More Visible Results
Ultra-Natural / Undetectable Look
This approach uses lighter layering—similar to applying one to two coats of nail polish—resulting in a softer, more sheer finish.
-
Pro: Extremely natural appearance
-
Consideration: Brows may look lighter sooner, and many clients choose to refresh around the 12-month mark
-
More Defined / Visible Look (especially for photos)
Achieved by layering more pigment to create stronger definition.
-
Pro: Visually lasts longer due to higher saturation
-
Consideration: Without maintenance, the color may appear dull over time—similar to hair color that needs periodic toning
Starting Point Matters
Your natural brows play a role in how the results appear and how long they last.
-
Clients with fuller natural brow hair often experience better visual blending and longer-lasting results
-
Clients with sparse or minimal brow hair, or those making a larger shape change, may notice fading sooner in areas without hair to support the pigment
-
This is normal and simply means maintenance timing may be different
Lifestyle & Skincare Factors
These can speed up fading and affect longevity:
-
Frequent sun exposure or outdoor activities
-
Sweating regularly
-
Skin-lightening products or active skincare (exfoliants, peels, facials)
-
Tanning or regular sun exposure
Daily sunscreen (after the healing period) can help protect pigment and extend retention.
If Life Gets Busy
If you’re unable to return for a refresher due to relocation, pregnancy, or life changes, the gradual fading is intentional. Your brows will soften rather than become harsh or discolored—and you’ll still have a natural template to follow, making daily makeup quicker and easier.
How long is the appointment?
The initial appointment typically takes 3.5–4 hours. This includes a thorough consultation to evaluate your skin type, skin tone, and natural brow hair color, followed by customized brow mapping and a custom pigment blend using only EU-certified semi-permanent makeup pigments with long-term color planning in mind.
The 5–8 week follow-up session and future maintenance sessions usually take 1.5–2.5 hours, while maintaining the same high-quality standard of care.
During your follow-up session, we will:
-
Fill in any lighter areas if you still prefer the most undetectable result possible after wearing your brows for a month
-
Or adjust the intensity so the healed result can appear 1–2 shades more defined, depending on your preference
This session is designed to refine—not redo—your brows based on how your skin heals and how you feel living with them.

Does it hurt?
Pain tolerance varies from person to person. At Suki Studio, high-quality topical numbing is applied before and throughout the procedure to keep you comfortable.
On average, clients report discomfort at about 2–3 out of 10 before the second layer of numbing is applied, which typically takes about 10 minutes. Most describe the sensation as light scratching rather than pain. After the second layer of numbing, many clients feel only pressure—and some even fall asleep during the procedure.
Not only impeccable results, but safe and comfortable procedures are top priorities at Suki Studio. You will be checked on continuously throughout your appointment, and additional numbing or breaks can always be provided if needed.
You will remain fully awake during the procedure, as only topical anesthesia is used. It does not affect your consciousness before, during, or after the appointment.
What is the procedure like?
Semi-permanent makeup is a two-step process consisting of:
-
Initial session: approximately 3.5–4 hours
-
Follow-up session: 5–8 weeks later, approximately 2 hours
Here is what to expect on the day of your appointment:
Consultation & Planning
We begin with a detailed consultation to understand your brow goals and evaluate your skin type, skin tone, and natural brow hair. A custom pigment is then carefully mixed to match your features and support long-term color stability.
Brow Mapping & Design
Precise measuring tools are used to map your brows according to your bone structure and facial symmetry. This is a collaborative process—we refine the design together until you feel confident and comfortable with the shape.
The final design is drawn in pencil, and only stray hairs outside the mapped shape are removed.
Pigmentation Process
Once we both approve the shape, the pigmentation process begins. Nothing proceeds until we are fully aligned on the design.
Aftercare & Follow-Up
At the end of the appointment:
-
Aftercare instructions will be reviewed in detail
-
Photos and videos will be taken for documentation
-
Your 5–8 week follow-up session will be scheduled
Follow-up and maintenance appointments follow the same careful standards, but are typically shorter.

How will you pick my shape?
One philosophy stands strong at Suki Studio:
We do not follow trends.
The most natural and timeless results come from working with your natural brow—not against it. Whenever possible, the shape is designed to follow your existing brow hair pattern and natural structure.
The length, thickness, and arch are primarily based on your natural brows, with thoughtful refinements using measurement techniques and facial proportion principles. This is how we achieve a result that looks polished, balanced, and truly yours.
Brow mapping is not one-size-fits-all. This step often takes the longest during your initial session because creating the right shape is the foundation of a successful result.
The pigmentation process will not begin until we both fully agree on the shape.
Do you have to shave off my brows?
No. Your natural brow hair is extremely valuable, and every effort is made to preserve it and integrate it into the final design.
In most cases, about 90% of your natural brow hair is kept to maintain the most natural appearance and keep your routine low maintenance in the long run.
Only in situations where a significant shape adjustment is needed—such as correcting downward-growing or drooping brows—may a small portion of hair outside the new shape require regular maintenance to maintain the elevated look.

How do you choose my color?
Only EU-certified pigments made in the USA or Europe are used at Suki Studio.
Your color is never chosen from a single bottle. Instead, multiple pigments are blended to create a customized shade that suits your:
-
Natural brow hair color
-
Skin tone and undertone
-
Skin type
-
Eye color
-
Long term neutral result
The color is selected based on how it will look after healing, not immediately after the procedure.
Immediately after treatment, the brows will appear darker and more defined. This is completely normal because the skin has been gently opened to allow pigment placement, and healing has not yet occurred.
Clients who have had sparse brows for a long time may find the change dramatic at first. For this reason, if you are particular about color or intensity, you are welcome to come in with your brows filled so we can better understand your preference.
What is a follow-up session?
The follow-up session is an essential part of the semi-permanent makeup process.
In the first few days after your procedure, your brows will appear darker as scabs form. As healing progresses, your body naturally absorbs some pigment and pushes some out. Over the next 4–8 weeks, the color may lighten by up to 40%, depending on your skin type and healing response.
Some clients experience what artists call the “ghosting phase,” where the brows appear very light around weeks 3–4 before the color gradually returns as the skin fully heals.
This is why at least one follow-up session is scheduled 5–8 weeks after your initial appointment. At this visit, I evaluate how your skin healed and refine the results if needed.
Most clients require:
-
1 initial session
-
1 follow-up session
-
Maintenance every 12–24+ months
Some clients may require an additional perfecting session depending on their starting point, skin type, or desired intensity (Read here for a more detailed explaination). This will always be discussed transparently.

How many follow-up sessions are required?
Most clients require one follow-up session after the initial procedure, then return for a refresher appointment approximately 12–24 months later.
This does not mean the semi-permanent makeup disappears after that timeframe. It simply means that is when many clients begin to notice significant lightening and may choose to refresh the color to maintain its vibrancy.
Because semi-permanent makeup sits under the skin, natural factors such as:
-
Skin regeneration
-
Sun exposure
-
Skincare products and facials
-
Lifestyle and medications
will gradually soften the pigment over time. A refresher session works similarly to toning hair color—it keeps the color looking fresh and balanced.
For clients with very little or no natural brow hair, fading may appear visually faster because there is less hair to blend with the pigment. In these cases, maintenance timing may be slightly earlier, depending on your personal preference.
Occasionally, an additional follow-up session may be recommended based on your starting point, healing response, or desired outcome. This will always be discussed transparently after I evaluate your skin and healing progress in person.
When should I schedule an annual refresher?
An annual refresher is not set on a fixed timer, as everyone’s skin retains pigment differently. Factors such as your starting brow condition, desired intensity, skincare products (especially brightening or exfoliating products), and lifestyle habits — including frequent sun exposure, outdoor activities, regular exercise, or tanning — can all play a significant role in color retention and overall freshness.
On average, for the natural technique that I specialize in, a refresher is typically recommended between 12–20 months to maintain the color intensity, freshness, and definition of your brow permanent makeup.
However, some clients find that their brows still look great at 24 months or beyond, or they may enjoy the softer, gradually lightened look while still having a visible template to follow with minimal makeup.
All follow-up and maintenance sessions at the studio are performed with the same level of care and quality as the initial appointment. This includes customized brow mapping and fresh pigment mixing to ensure your semi-permanent makeup continues to complement your features, enhance your natural beauty, and age beautifully with you.

Can I book an appointment if I have previous work?
At Suki Studio, I primarily accept clients with virgin brows (no previous permanent makeup).
Clients with previous work may be accepted on a case-by-case basis, but the existing pigment must be very minimal—generally about 10% pigment remaining.
Clear photos are required before booking so I can determine whether your brows are suitable for correction or if removal is recommended first.
If your case is accepted, it will be treated as a correction or cover-up procedure, and an additional follow-up session may be required depending on your starting point and desired results.
Please note:
Not all previous work can be safely corrected without removal first.
Before booking, email photos to:
sukistudiony@gmail.com
Please include:
-
Front-facing photo of your full face
-
Close-up photo of your right brow
-
Close-up photo of your left brow
-
Details of your previous tattoo history
-
Your brow goals
-
Photos must be:
-
Clear
-
Unfiltered
-
Taken in natural lighting
-
Failure to submit photos before booking may result in appointment cancellation and deposit forfeiture.
Do I need to take a day off work?
No. There is typically no downtime associated with this treatment.
Most clients experience minimal redness or swelling immediately after the procedure, which usually subsides the same day or by the next morning.
Around days 3–5, your brows may appear slightly darker as scabs form. This is a normal part of healing and should not interfere with your daily activities.
Most clients return to work and normal routines without issue. If you prefer a more private healing period, you can schedule your appointment accordingly.

Are you licensed and certified?
Yes. I am licensed, certified, and insured in New York City. Only EU-certified semi-permanent makeup pigments and FDA-approved topical numbing are used in the studio to ensure safe and consistent results.
Because of my strong commitment to staying current with the most advanced techniques, I invest heavily in continuous education. I am also certified and recognized in Hong Kong, China, and Korea, regions known for their high standards in the semi-permanent makeup industry.
Safety, hygiene, and proper technique are non-negotiable standards at Suki Studio.
Can I book if I am over age 55?
Yes, absolutely.
Clients over 55 are welcome, and many see significant benefits from semi-permanent makeup-particularly those experiencing brow thinning or hair loss.
Because mature skin behaves differently and requires more attention during the designing, brow mapping and long term healing process ( please see the detailed explanation here), I do require clear photos of your current brows before booking.
Please email the following to sukistudiony@gmail.com:

Photos of your brows prior to hair loss ( if applicable)
This allows me to carefully assess your starting point, set realistic expectations, and determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your sknin.
This step helps ensure safe, redictable, and well planned results.

How long does it take to heal?
Healing time varies from person to person, but powder brows typically take about 10 days for scabs to form and naturally fall off. While the surface of the brows may appear healed around Day 10, your skin still needs another 2 to 4 weeks for the pigment to fully settle and stabilize.
That’s why your follow up session is scheduled 5 to 8 weeks after the initial appointment, this allows the brows to heal completely so we can refine the results if needed.
Here’s a simplified breakdown of what your brows will go through from Day 1–30:
Day 1 — “OMG, I’m obsessed! My new brows are FIRE!”
You love your brows, yay! Now it’s time to show them some love.
Skip cleansers and makeup removers.Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Apply a tiny, rice-grain-sized amount of ointment to each brow. They should feel lightly hydrated but still able to breathe. This step supports smooth healing.
Stick to this simple routine and you’ll be on your way to brows that heal beautifully.
Day 2–4 — “Wait… why do they look so dark and thick?!”
Your brows may appear darker or thicker than expected. This is completely normal. The pigment temporarily darkens as it oxidizes and light scabs begin to form.
What to do:
-
Gently wash with water 1–2 times per day
-
Apply a thin layer of ointment to prevent cracking (cracking can affect retention)
-
You may wear makeup, but do not apply makeup directly on the brows
Trust the process.
Day 4–10 — “Ugh, now they’re scabbing and flaking!”
Your brows will begin to flake.
Do NOT pick at scabs.
Let them shed naturally. It may seem like your powder pixels are disappearing, but this is simply part of the healing process.
Day 10–15 — “Umm… where did my brows go?!”
This stage is called the ghosting phase.
Brows may look faded or patchy because new skin is forming over the pigment.
Don’t panic—they’re not gone. They’re just temporarily hidden.
Day 15–30 — “Phew, they’re back and looking GOOD!”
Redness fades, and the true color begins to appear. Your brows start to look softer and more natural as the pigment settles into the skin.
You’re entering the low-maintenance zone—gym, beach, busy life… your brows stay put.
Around Day 30 — “Wow, they healed so natural!”
By now, your brows are considered fully healed on the surface, and this is when your perfecting session becomes important.
Permanent makeup is a two-step process, and the second visit reinforces areas that may have healed lighter than expected.
Important to know:
Brows typically heal 30%–60% lighter than Day 1
-
Dry skin: usually ~30% lighter
-
Oily skin: may heal up to ~60% lighter
Once healed, apply full-spectrum sunscreen to protect the pigment and maintain long-term color freshness.

I have previous brow work. Can you refresh or fix it?
Any work not originally done by me is considered a correction or cover-up case, regardless of how old or faded it may look.
I accept correction cases on a case-by-case basis, and generally only when the previous pigment is very minimal—typically around 10% remaining.
In some situations, removal may be recommended before correction to achieve safe and natural results.
For detailed instructions on how to apply for a correction, please refer to:
“Can I book an appointment if I have previous work?”
